Launchpad offers both student-led and client (depending of the semester) projects that rotate on a semesterly basis. Each project is led by an experienced project leader who will teach you more project-specific skills needed to work on the project you are assigned to for the semester. You can check out some of our past projects here!
New members in Launchpad are expected to commit 6-8 hours a week working on one of the semesterly projects. We also have mandatory general meetings every Wednesday 8-10 pm (day/time subject to change). But otherwise, it's all about the community and social events :)
None at all! Part of Launchpad's goal is to teach you all the skills you need from the ground up. We'll start with basic topics like linear regression and work our way up to more advanced concepts like reinforcement learning as the semester progresses.
In light of COVID-19, we thought Discord would be a cool way for our applicants to easily ask us questions and get to know our members a little better. Anyone marked with a blue (officer) or red (member) role is a part of Launchpad! In place of tabling on Sproul, we will have an open voice/video channel from 10 am - 4 pm and 9 pm - midnight on 1/19 - 1/22 as well as 10 am - 4 pm on 1/25 - 1/28, feel free to hop in at anytime and talk to some of our members!
If you have any general questions or concerns, feel free to shoot us an email at team AT callaunchpad DOT org!
Want updates about our recruiting deadlines and events this semester? Fill out this form here! We will also be sending updates about future Launchpad events like professional talks and final showcase through this mailing list.
